The Festival gives otherwise unavailable access to authors and scholars while encouraging the exchange of ideas and values – it’s like having a back stage pass to all the best concerts!

This is a FREE family event that promotes literacy and the city of Edgerton. So, if you love your local library, you will definitely love this event!

Our goals for this event include:

  • To honor and promote the literary legacy of our hometown author, Sterling North.
  • To cultivate the concept of books in the home and families reading together.
  • To promote the use of information and reading resources provided by libraries.
  • To champion literacy and life-long learning through reading.
  • To provide information on how to get a book published.

The Sterling North Book & Film Festival consists of a number of interactive literary events.
{The literary smart-guys wanted me to say that – in other words, there’s a TON of fun stuff to do!!}

These include featured speakers and authors who share their insight on their writing and the inspiration for their books. The authors include those who have written best-sellers as well as Wisconsin authors. Through collaborative efforts within our community and those of the literary world we work together to present an entire day full of free reading and film related activities. The folks at your local library would be proud – as a matter of fact, you should share this information with your library workers to help spread the word!

In addition, a children’s author is selected each year to receive the Sterling North Literary Legacy Award for Excellence in Children’s Literature which is presented at the Book & Film Festival.

Make room on your calendar now! You will want to bring your family and friends to this event that will not only bring fun to your weekend, but enrichment to your life!
